Founded in 2004 by Drew Johnson and Nick Zagaros, JZ Electric offers a full range of both residential and commercial electrical services. Our technicians are licensed and experienced to ensure all projects are completed efficiently with all local and state regulations and requirements met.
Our electricians are respectful professionals who complete their work with the minimal disruption to the worksite, and clean up thoroughly after every job.

Nick Zagaros is the co-head founder of both JZ Electric and Homelink Entertainment. Today, continuing in the position as president of JZ Electric, he brings extensive electrical experience and a developed understanding of customer service to the business. Prior to beginning JZ Electric in 2004, Nick studied Electrical Construction and Maintenance at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Nick holds a certified degree as a master electrician and also serves as a professional lighting consultant. In the future, Nick plans to continue expanding his knowledge in both electrical construction and lighting design. Outside of work he enjoys cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and spending time with his wife, Kim, and three children.
Drew Johnson is the co-head founder of both JZ Electric and Homelink Entertainment. With the founding of Homelink Entertainment, Drew has served as its president since the establishment in 2007. With his passion for good customer service, Drew runs his company with the hope to "provide a service and support system beyond the average contractor." Drew studied Electrical Construction and Maintenance at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Currently he holds certifications in low-voltage, electrical and Lutron lighting. With the evolving Audio/Video field, Drew continues to expand his knowledge and update his many certifications. Through his work, Drew is always striving to treat all clients with the respect he would expect in his own home or business. In his free time, Drew enjoys golfing, woodworking and being a father to his two daughters.
Nick joined JZ Electric in 2005 as an apprentice electrician. Bringing strong worth ethic and mechanical problem solving skills to the company, Nick quickly was promoted through the system to his current position of project manager. Nick studied Electrical Construction and Maintenance at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In his spare time, he enjoys helping at his family farm in Hutchinson, Minnesota and being a father to his two daughters and son.
Matt joined JZ Electric in 2006 as an apprentice electrician. Through fast learning and curiosity, Matt learned quickly and today holds his master electrician license. With his success at JZ Electric and his advanced technical skills, Matt was moved to Homelink Entertainment where today he serves as the company's project manager. Prior to JZ Electric, Matt studied Electrical Construction and Maintenance at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In his free time, Matt likes to spend time at his cabin, hike and travel with his wife.
Kayla joined JZ Electric and Homelink Entertainment in 2015. She graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and has quickly become a valuable addition to our team. Her positivity and determination for customer satisfaction is shown in her work. Wearing many hats, she accepts any challenge thrown her way and has a strong desire to learn more about the electrical industry. Kayla likes to spend her time staying active, spending time with family, or traveling to her "home away from home" in Hawaii.
Barb has been managing all office content, welcoming clients, and field support for both JZ Electric and Homelink Entertainment since 2012. Using her 20 years of experience in previous office management roles and her strong organizational skills, Barb has helped to keep our office running smoothly. Her hard work, positive attitude, and customer service skills make her a great asset to the company. In her free time Barb enjoys gardening, cooking, and spend time with her family.
